Who is responsible for my garment if problems occur when cleaned?
The manufacturer is responsible to offer a product that will perform satisfactorily for its normal life expectancy when it is cleaned according to the instruction specified by the care label. The consumer is responsible for damage that occurs during use and home care. This includes chemical damage from spillage of beverages, medications, perfumes, hair dyes or perspiration, along with abrasion from wear or failure to follow care instructions. The dry cleaner is responsible for damage caused by improper stain removal and/or improper cleaning techniques that may have been used, including improper finishing. It is the dry cleaners responsibility to follow the care instruction or advise the customer when in their best judgment that an alternative process should be used.
